EPR015 - Weltenwandler - Departure Remixed LP
(inc. Franco Bianco, Fabian Schumann, Sascha Kloeber, Atesh K. and more Remixes)

Click here to get more Informations

A couple of months after Weltenwandler's dark and moving debut LP "Departure", we are proud to present "Departure Remixed": 10 different producers take their spin on Weltenwandler's original tracks and guide them into realms from Deep House to Techno, from Neotrance to Techhouse.

Starting with Sascha Kloeber's incredible light and touching techhouse remix of the originally pretty sinister Limbo, the LP departs on a rather danceable note. Carried further into club territory by Atesh K. and his rattling Butterfly Defect remix. Franco Bianco and Fabian Schumann, no unknowns in the scene show why they are at the top of their class, presenting grooving versions of Departure and Citadel Of Light. Pickung up, Manu P develops his own house-inspired interpretation of "The Storm"; handing over to a bass heavy low-tempo variant of Quantum Leap from Cambo & Atom. Leading further, Steve Cole ft Ronald Christophs soulfull remix of "A Place Without Time" and Mondkrater's Neotrance Remix of "Black Forest" are little rays of light and hope before plunging into the neverending darkness of Syntecs bass-heavy Shinto variation. Finishing with Homeward's incredible "Nightfall" Remix, this piece of pure unadultered analogue madness is setting the mood just right to let the listener know that now, Weltenwandler's debut Album has departed and found a more than fitting new home in the hands of those outstanding remixers.

This release is supported by some of the best artists and media around the world, such as: Richie Hawtin, SLAM, Pierce, Lützenkirchen, Lucio Malatoid, Boenig & Ochs, Rich Vom Dorf, Bebetta, Oliver Schories, Marco Carola, Franck Valat, Stacey Pullen, Kiss FM, Amine Edge, Gabriel Ananda, Randall Jones, Marquez Ill, Ekkohaus, Joe T Vannelli, Berlin FM, wearesyndicate, berlin mitte institut, Radio AltroVerso, PLUGiNZINE, electrosound.tv, DJ Mag Italia, jacbri.com, Soundwall.it, LightWaveRadio, differentgrooves.com, Tsugi Magazine, Euphoric Magazine, 2Deep House Show / Ministry of Sound Radio, de:Bug (bleed) and many others icons of the industry!

(inc. Malicious Joy & Branislove Remix)

Click here to get more Informations

With EPR014 we once more cordially welcome a newcomer producer from our neighbor-country, Austria. Lotte EP is the first release of Aprax on Electrophil Records. His love for music began early. After learning the drums at the age of 8 his passion for rhythm was born and is still a basic element of his music. After some time his skills improved and his style changed.

This EP starts with Sternhagel, creating an atmosphere like a warm rainy summer day under a starry sky. Next, Lotte is a deep and grooving track with added melodic elements and Things I Do is a rhythmical deep house track sweetened up with vocals. This sweet package comes with two remixes from Basel-based producers: Malicious Joy made a driving tech house version of Sternhagel and Branislove is presenting his tech-house interpretation of Things I Do.

Former breakdancer and now known as DJ Fran-G, has been an activ part of Basel's night life for more than a decade now. In May 2012 he released his first EP Things on the Swiss label Electrophil Records.

This EP starts with Endless, a simple dreamy atmosphere creates the base for this deep groovy Track. And as the name already reveal you could hear this track Endless. Also the next Track circumscribes itself, Same old Feeling. With long Baselines and wired Vocals its little like the Same old Feeling on a Sunday after a hard weekend. Long Baselines and Vocals also contains in Laugh Again and The Truth. Belong to the Original Track there are three Remixes from some old Friends of Francesco, starting with Danny Kotz which made a more ambient Version of Endless. Also a little ambient acting is the Remix of Same old Feeling from the Freiburg based Producer Marco Di Feo. Entirely different is the Jackrabbit Remix of The Truth which will keep your feet moving.

EPRCOMP001 - VA - Gare de Bâle - The Sound of Basel

Click here to get more Informations

Electrophil Records continues to grow as a platform for Basel-based electronic artists with the release of its first ever compilation, entitled Gare de Bâle – The Sound of Basel. Rather than rely on label staples, Electrophil wanted to use the compilation as a means of unearthing hidden talent and so ran a competition offering producers both young and old the chance to become a part of Basel's wider electronic narrative. After much deliberating, 11 tracks were selected, bringing together elements of house, techno and electro from both cantons of this swiss area.
Experienced pairing Deep Bros open the compilation with 'Moments', easing the listener in on a bed of warm, affable chords and cosmic synths. Debutant duo Moritz & Max ensure the energy is kept bubbling away with 'Retro Dancer', whose jazzy, pumping groove conveys a maturity beyond their years. 'Hooked' by Malicious Joy meanwhile dips its toes into deeper territory, combining a gogo rhythms with classic house vocals, while Fred Licci & Denis Capizzi round off a more than buoyant introduction with the thickset, infectious stylings of electronic house number 'Greenpuma'. Joining forces on 'Kunststofftraum' are Gin Tonic Soundsystem & G-Rillo, who delve into the swirling recesses of guitar-inflected tech house before seasoned white-isle enthusiasts Mike & Nika turns things up a notch on 'Ibiza Esta Loca'. Cuts from Francesco Ballato and 22 year old Floyd Hatton represent the more twisted side to the city's musical character, layering an eerie miscellany of sounds - from glitchy bleeps and blips to ominous bass swells - over sparse minimal frameworks. Serbian-born producer Branislove rounds off the more underground side of things with 'Berlin', an appropriately epic slice of tech house that will have the listener fully entranced by way of its resonant, emotive core. At first glance, 'Ali Baba Sings His Song' and 'Not The Way' - by Ned O'Neal and Dodobeatz & Thimlife respectively - seem somewhat incongruous amongst the compilation's previous, deeper selections. That said, both records offer a rich and invaluable look into the more upfront electronic markets that the city has to offer. Ned O'Neal's strong arab influences combine beautifully with his pummelling peak-time framework, while 'Not The Way' closes out this vibrant, auspicious cross-section of Basel's sonic being with a proper, no-nonsense cut of jackin' electro house.
Gare de Bâle – The Sound of Basel is out on Electrophil Records on the 9th May 2013. This Project is supported by Kultur.kick Basel and is also played and charted by some of the best artists and media of the industry such as: Paris One Radio, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Roger Sanchez, Marco Carola, Dubfire, Nima Gorji, Franco Bianco, Claudio Coccoluto, Sasha Carassi, The Glitz, Simina Grigoriu, Micheldehey, Matt Star, Anderson Noise, Jose Wated, Sinan Kaya, Volcano Radio, TheClubbing.com, Switch-Entertainment, This is Why We Dance Blog, FM Brussel, Mellow Fusion Radio Show, The Vault Radio Show, 5 Magazine, Turntables24.com, Power FM Dublin, Subdivisions Global Radio Show, Berlin FM, Digital FM, Radio FDS, Radio Studio One, Essential deLuxe Radioshow, Proton Radio, Flirt 101.3 FM and Diversions Radio Toronto between may others!

EPR012 - Weltenwandler - Departure LP

Click here to get more Informations

Falk Morawitz AKA Weltenwandler is a producer on the rise. His last offering, 2012s Gegen die Zeit, offered listeners an intriguing snapshot into his precocious talents, while his debut LP, Departure, is another indication of a man with a penchant for scrupulously crafted, dexterous tones. Released on the Swiss based Electrophil imprint, its a production that encompasses multiple temperaments, with everything from ominous strands to bittersweet moments to melancholy hues all apparent.

The journey starts with Nightfall, whereby the protagonists mood-setting capabilities are as prominent as ever. A true slice of atmospheric house music, it sets the albums stall out with sure fire aplomb, unfurling as it does amongst a backdrop of menace and suspense. Such characteristics are prominent elsewhere too, with bassline-led anthems such as Butterfly Defect, Quantum Leap and Limbo all accentuating Mr.Morawitzs dancefloor credentials. Hyped, frantic and elegantly produced, all three boast the hallmarks of the archetypal peak-time gem. Meanwhile, both the title track and Citadel of Light hark toward decidedly drearier roads, with an abundance of eerie sounds among their foremost features. Weltenwandlers skill for delicately striking the right balance between the dance floor and the home listener is similarly clear – and nowhere more so than on the Trentemoller-esque strands of The Black Forest, the industrial emptiness of The Storm and the succulent, pitched-back, celestial strands of A Place Without Time. Cerebral and thought provoking, the latter neatly encapsulates all thats great about this multifaceted producer. And on this run of form, Weltenwandler isnt departing for anywhere yet.

This release is supported by some of the best artists and media around the world, such as: Patrick Kunkel, Amine Edge, Mode B, Joe T Vannelli, Slam, Das Fachpersonal, Maya Jane Coles, Sossa, Coxswain, Jesse Rose, Luciano, Franco Bianco, Federico Locchi, Faze Magazin, Sound Effect Magazine, Technoszene.com.
